Born into an agricultural family in the humble village of Uttar Kannada district, Dr. Venkatramana Hegde's journey from these roots to becoming a beacon of naturopathy is truly inspiring. With a BNYS degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, his passion for holistic health led him to establish a 60-bed naturopathy hospital in Sirsi. Dr. Hegde's expertise in health education, both through his prolific writings and television appearances, has earned him numerous prestigious awards and a loyal following. Dr. Hegde's health educational programs are widely acclaimed in electronic media. His famous speech, “Arogyakkagi Panchasutragalu,” has captivated large audiences, and he has been a cherished guest on various television programs, including Arogya Bharathi Nisarga Health Club. A dynamic public health speaker, he has delivered motivational speeches and conducted numerous health programs across Karnataka.
A regular contributor to Kannada newspapers, Dr. Hegde’s health articles are a staple in Vijayvani. His contributions to the field of health have been recognized with national awards such as the “Noble Man” award in 2009, the “Aryabhata International Award” in 2010, and the “Parimala Award” in 2018.
Dr. Hegde’s influence extends globally as a guest speaker at International Kannada cultural meets. He has been the principal investigator for three research projects, with findings published in international journals. Over the past 13 years, he has authored eight books on disease prevention and health promotion. He pioneered the concept of using yoga to enhance memory and concentration in school children, a program adopted by the Karnataka education department, benefiting lakhs of students.
In 2015, Dr. Hegde founded Nisarga Mane, an AYUSH-registered hospital near Sirsi, with the motto “Return to Nature to Reverse Health Disorders.” His visionary efforts have expanded to include the 60-bed Kanaka Nisarga Mane hospital in Kaginele.
